Pit 131: Level 2

Level two would become our poster child for the distinct two levels we see in this area that is along the fence. We found very few artifacts in what has become known as a dead zone. Apparently, the construction of the 1960s road pushed artifacts up into this area, and this is what we find in level one. Level two is then the organic buildup that has occurred since the Granby period. If all goes as expected, we should find huge numbers of Granby artifacts in level three. At this point, the pizza had arrived, and we decided to take a lunch break.

Pit 131: Level 2 produced: 3 kitchen pottery, 1 stoneware, 1 kitchen glass, 1 window glass, 1 nail, 3 Native American, and 1 iron piece.
