Pit 139: Level 1
Completed on Feb 3, 2021 by Sue and Bill Sexton, Alma Robichaud, Josephine Bachman, Alicia Ballagh, Jim and Janet Smith (and children), Odess and David Brinkman. It was good to have church friends Sue and Bill Sexton with us. Once again, in the disturbed area above the 1960s gas line, we were finding many Native American items. The top find of the level was a large piece of chert which is not native to this area. Granby archaeologist DC Locke throught it could be from the area of Tennessee. That's not surprising as this was a major river crossing point for probably thousands of years.
