Pit 149: Level 3

Completed on January 8, 2023 by Kim Masters, Jocelyn and DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. Kim arrived and did most of the digging in level 3. The aritifacts really started showing including a pipe stem and .25 caliber musket shot. After cleaning the artifacts, we found that the pipe stem (the 133rd found in the dig) was only the fifth stem that dates to 1680-1720. This is very pre-Granby. Overall, pit 149 was below our artifact average but the musket ball and old pipe stem make it a significant pit. We will, likely, stay in this area of the yard over the remaining pits of the Granby dig.
