Pit 22: Level 1

Completed on Oct 5th, 2012 by David and Odess Brinkman, DC Locke, and newbie (and Explorers Club member) Jan Ciegler. Another Friday night dig so we tried to get off to an earlier start but level 1 was tough to sift because of the recent rains. Moving South of the row that produced our 3 best pits, we knew this would be a good one. Jan had the highlight find of the level with a really nice piece of English Brown Salt Glazed stoneware (1690-1775).

Pit 22: Level 1 produced: 8 pieces of pottery, 8 pieces of glass, 2 nails, and a good number of brick fragments.
