Pit 45: Level 2

Completed on July 10, 2013 by Gloria Talens, Fred Morrison, Odess and David Brinkman. More of our mystery clay material came in level 2 but not much of anything else. At this point we were hoping to see a second wind of artifacts in level 3 like we were seeing in the pits between the Judas and Magnolia trees. I knew the roots would be bad in this area but it was really making the digging difficult and we only had 2 diggers. The humidity was terrible. I have finally concluded that, during this time of the year, the 25% higher humidity in the morning is much harder on you than the 15 degree higher temperature in the afternoon.

Pit 45: Level 2 produced: 3 pieces of pottery and 1 piece of glass. No nails in the first 2 levels!
