Pit 50: Level 1

Completed October 6, 2013 by Art Coogler, David and Odess Brinkman, DC Locke, Dean Hunt, and Al Nooft. Al joined us for the first time on milestone pit #50. We carefully selected pits 49 and 50 to be in a good area with 50 expected to be the better. Pit 49 was a surprise and ended up being the best pit of the dig. Will we be able to top that in pit 50? The artifact numbers looked pretty good for level one and Al found a really cool and obvious Native American tool (a river rock that had been worked into a scraper).

Pit 50: Level 1 produced: 14 pieces of pottery, 14 pieces of glass, 4 nails, 4 Native American pieces, a pipe bowl piece, and a large number of brick fragments.
