Pit 63: Level 2
Completed March 22, 2014 by John Allison, Debbie Bloom, Dean Hunt, DC Locke, and David and Odess Brinkman. Coming in and out while preparing dinner for the dig team, Odess made a great find with a 1720-1750 pipe stem. We now have 61 pipe stems in 63 pits. Since very early on, the percentage of pipes from 1720-1750 has been consistent at about 80%. We also found a metal piece that had held a round object. Similar to the head of a jewelry pin.
Pit 63: Level 2 produced: 15 pieces of pottery, 20 pieces of glass, 7 nails, a pipe stem, and 8 charcoal pieces.
