Storyline

In what is now Cayce, South Carolina, a single square mile holds evidence of 12,000 years of continuous human habitation. Within this small area, Native Americans thrived, Hernando de Soto’s expedition passed through, and the first backcountry fort and settlement were established. The same ground later witnessed battles of both the American Revolution and the Civil War. Nowhere else in the world offers such a rich and diverse span of human history in such a small area.

Fast forward to the year 2035: you are a Time Gamer. Until recently, time gamers were only observers—able to experience parallel universes but returning with nothing more than memories. Now, new breakthroughs allow you to bring back specially engineered devices from the future. Your mission has been chosen carefully: You must track down a DNA sniffer, a device designed to detect and preserve the genetic footprints of long-extinct species, as well as the humans who shaped one of the greatest civilizations in history. If you succeed, these samples will be used to map Earth’s genetic history—laying the foundation for scientists to clone resilient new animals, designed to survive the mounting challenges of our changing planet.
