Pit 117: Level 1

Completed February 27, 2021 by Stephany North, DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. Stephany North, a long-time Riverland Park neighbor, joined us for the first time. Stephany's husband, Grady, died last year. Grady spent decades metal detecting the area. He followed our Granby dig and stopped by during a couple of the digs. Stephany brings digging experience which we were happy to have, especially in an area like this where there are many tree roots.

For pit 117, we decided to do a pit one row closer to today's house. For level one, we found a surprising number of Native American pottery pieces.

Pit 117: Level 1 produced: Seven pottery pieces, three glass, two bone, 14 Native American, three charcoal, and one iron.
