Pit 118: Level 1
Completed on March 13, 2021 by Kim Masters, Jocelyn and DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. We welcomed another new digger today. Kim Masters is a neighbor of of the Lockes and DC has helped her metal detect her backyard near where there are Confederate earthworks. Like Stephany North, from last week, Kim comes in with a lot of ground digging experience. She also has a lot of motivation. Back on the other side of the fence (in the main hotzone) we found a good number of Native American pottery pieces. Other basic artifact categories were typical for a level one, in this area.
Pit 118: Level 1 produced: Two pieces of pottery, 11 pieces of glass two nails, three Native American, and four charcoal.
