Pit 123: Level 2

Completed on April 24, 2021 by Kim Masters, Jocelyn and DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. Many iron, spiral in shape, pieces were found in level two. These are very similar to that found in adjacent pit 121. These may be 20th century but also mixed in with these artifacts were 18th-century items like the pottery, green bottle glass, and square nail. Also found (and common in this area) were charcoal pieces and shell fragments. These, and the plain white pottery, fit the pattern of this location being slave quarters.

Pit 123: Level 2 produced: 3 kitchen pottery, 1 kitchen glass, 1 nails, lead, and 1 slag.
