Pit 143: Level 2

Completed on Mar 19, 2022 by Silvia and Joseph Russell (Seraphina), DCs friend, Jocelyn and DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. Things got more interesting in level two. We found a couple of pieces of green sponged ceramics and also a 1720-1750 pipe stem. In the arms category, we found a 31 caliber musket ball and a 22 caliber shell. There were also Native pottery pieces and, square nails (as usual.) The clay also continued. This may be the most clay we have found in a pit. The bottem of the level showed a feature which we will track into level three.
