Pit 39: Level 1

Completed May 18, 2013 by Dean Hunt, DC Locke, and David Brinkman. We started a student dig day by breaking ground in a new area along the Riverland Drive fence and between the Judas and Magnolia trees. The last pits we did on the other side of the Judas tree (in the hot zone) showed a significant drop in artifacts so we were not expecting much here. But..level one was a big surprise with really good numbers of Granby era brick, pottery, glass, and a pipe bowl piece found. It was a great way to start the day.

Pit 39: Level 1 produced: 15 pieces of pottery, 11 pieces of glass, 1 pipe bowl fragment.
