Pit 40: Level 1

Completed May 25, 2013 by IC Go, Odess and David Brinkman. IC Go joined us for the first time today. We only had 3 dig members today and lots of tree roots to go through. The results, however, were much better than average for level 1 so our excitement make the work seem easier. Most unusual was a pipe bowl. Pipe pieces are rarely found in level 1 of the Granby dig. Also unique, was a bright blue piece of old glass.

Pit 40: Level 1 produced: 12 pieces of pottery, 9 pieces of glass, 4 nails, and a pipe bowl fragment.
