Pit 55: Level 1

Completed by David and Odess Brinkman on December 1, 2013. In preparation of next Saturday's dig with the Squires of the Knights of Columbus, we completed level 1 of pit 55 so we could get the boys off to a quick start. A lot of the work in level 1 is sifting grass and finding modern day items like the asphalt and rock used in the 1960 construction of the neighborhood. Seeing that rain was expected for the end of the week, we also covered the hole so it would be dry for the completion of levels 2 and 3.

Pit 55: Level 1 produced: 6 pieces of pottery, 8 pieces of glass, and 1 nail.
