Pit 74: Level 1

Completed on November 15, 2014 by the Knights of Columbus Squires (Eric and Dylan Cambre, Kristy and Peter Allen, David Villa, Sean Blackmer, Dan, Jack, William, and Katie Ostergaard, and Richard Scialdo), DC Locke, David and Odess Brinkman. About this time last year, the Squires completed 2 pits in the cold rain and found some really cool items. With about half the dig team size, we decided to go for one pit today. Pit 74, however, was in the area between the Judas and Magnolia tress which means lots of roots and deeper digging. The Squires were eager to start and level 1 showed typical artifact counts. As we completed level 1, the pizza arrived and we went inside to eat a good lunch. After lunch, the Squires got a little history and artifact show at our new Granby museum display.

Pit 74: Level 1 produced: 9 pieces of pottery, 5 pieces of glass, and 1 nail.
