Pit 99: Level 3

Completed October 31, 2016 by Jocelyn and DC Locke, Odess and David Brinkman. Artifacts picked up in level 3 and we had some really nice pieces of hand painted pearlware pottery from the late 1700s. There were also some kitchen glass and window glass pieces and a pipe bowl piece. In total, pit 99 gave us 70 artifacts which is less than half of our average but we were, again, at the edge of the "hot zone". We were denied the milestone of a 100th pipe stem but maybe that's more appropriate for pit 100. So, the planning begins for the major milestone of the 100th pit of the Granby dig.

Pit 99: Level 3 produced: 13 pieces of pottery, 1 stoneware piece, 1 bone, 13 pieces of glass, 2 charcoal pieces, 7 nails, a pipe bowl piece, and 3 coal pieces.
