Sarah Friday's 1810 Granby Drawing
Jesse Sharp
Not much is known about Jesse Sharp, but a Richard Sharp was the second most frequent customer of the Congarees store in the 1780s. William Sharp and Christopher Sharp were also customers during that time. We know much more about Christopher, as he was one of the ferry owners on the Broad River starting about the time Sarah made her drawing. Jesse was, likely, a brother of Christopher or maybe a son. It is interesting to note that these German Sharps had basically one purchase item at the Congarees store; they were the biggest consumers of alcohol.
