Muller's Store
The Muller's store in Granby was started by Ernest Henry David Muller shortly after he arrived from Germany in 1805. The store would be passed on through several generations and was a thriving early 20th century business in Columbia. Early on, documentation shows a business relation to a couple of generations of Senn (the firm of Muller & Senn). This partnership seemed to end with Captain R. D. Senn. Below is an Election news report (Charleston Cour. 9/10/1828) that shows voting took place at the Muller store in Granby. Notice that Granby resident (and Muller neighbor) Henry Seibles was involved:
Below is the obituary for partner R. D. Senn (The State 11/16/1898) and the death notice of a second generation Mrs Muller (The State 7/10/1903):
Below is an 1895 ad (The State 11/24/1895) that shows a healthy "Muller's and Sons" store in Columbia.
